Attacks force evacuation of Basra consulate!
Read this Evacuate the British Consulate!-That'll send the right signal to the locals!-How brave of our embassy staff!I've been to it several times,it's part of the Basrah Palace complex,a compound within a massive heavily defended "fortress"!Normally when the embassy staff are evacuated it's the final act before defeat,even if this isn't the case that's exactly what the extremists will say!-Whoever made this appalling decision has handed a victory to the insurgents,why not make it complete and just pull all our troops out as well?
