Children afraid to play in the park
Read this The sad result of a too lenient criminal "justice" system!It started at school with teachers powers to discipline unruly children being reduced from the cane or the slipper,which I had as a child and I believe it worked,to having a quiet word with the young brat and trying to point out the error of his/her ways,which quite obviously dosen't work seeing the behaviour of school kids today.Next add a patheticaly lenient juvenile court system,in some cases not even punishing young offenders but sending them on all payed for holidays to Disneyland,and finaly add the totally inadequate sentences that the courts hand out for anything from shoplifting to murder and rape.Put it all together and you have a total disregard for the law and the correct way to behave in civilized society.Two days ago a wedding party in the north of England was stoned by a gang of yobs,daily we see on the news examples of anti-social behaviour that twenty years ago would have resulted in a prison sentence,but now you're lucky if the police even bother to attend."Zero tolerance" worked in New York,cutting anti-social behavour and crime dramatically,I believe it's time for the powers that be to consider trying it here,then perhaps our children might feel safe enough to play in our parks without fear,as we remember doing ourselves when we were young.
